Season recaps

Written from each season's own numbers โ€” how it turned, who ran it, who collapsed, and how the title was won.

RJ Stone scores 208.8 in a semifinal

The biggest week in the history of this league happened in an elimination game, and it wasn't close to a fair fight.

RJ Stone put 208.8 on Brady Garcia in the week-sixteen semifinal. Jonathan Taylor went for 48.8, Justin Jefferson 32.4, Brian Thomas Jr. 27.7, Jameson Williams 27.5, Kyren Williams 21.4, and the Packers defense added 15. Nine of his ten starters reached double figures. Garcia scored 134.7 โ€” a number that wins most weeks in this league โ€” and lost by 74.

Garcia had earned better. The week before he had put 174.8 on Asa Miller, the second-highest score of the year, behind 42.3 from Davante Adams and 36.4 from Mike Evans. Then he ran into the only score on record that beats it.

Stone finished the job in the final, 159.6 to 96.9 over Aidan Cuozzo, with Taylor scoring 28.6 and eight more starters in double figures โ€” the same trick as the semifinal, everyone contributing, nobody needed to be a hero. Cuozzo had gone 9-5, taken the one seed, and led the league with 1,682.9 points. In the title game Bijan Robinson gave him 23.3, Kyler Murray 17.0, and the Colts defense went for minus four.

The season is also a story about three teams that were nowhere in 2023. Stone finished seventh that year, Cuozzo eighth, Garcia tenth. In 2024 they finished first, second and third. Meanwhile Elijah Gomes, the defending champion, went 8-6 and lost in the semifinals, and Nick Carnevali dropped from 11-3 to 8-6 and sixth.

Ja'Marr Chase scored 57.9 in week ten, the best single week by any starter, for Jayden Bernhardt. Bernhardt also had Lamar Jackson for 422.9 โ€” more points than any player has produced for one manager here โ€” and finished eighth at 7-7. Two of the three best individual assets in the league belonged to a team that missed the playoffs.

Aiden North went 2-12 and was outscored by 291.8. It was his last season.
